iOS: You may have heard, but people don’t really like ’s new in iOS 6. They want the old back. Well, sort of good news: you can get them as a native app thanks to ClassicMap—with a lot of features missing.

ClassicMap offers what looks and feels just like the original Maps app that Apple created for iOS 5 and earlier. It works the same if you’re checking an address, browsing around the world, or switching between classic map and satellite view. You can even drop a pin anywhere you like. That’s where the similarities end, however, as you can’t look up locations by name, you can’t get directions, and you can’t do much more than look at the maps themselves. That said, ClassicMap is free. It puts a very familiar version of Google Maps on your again.

It may not be perfect, but hopefully we’ll see some major feature updates in the near future.
