If you are interested in photography, in particular, digital photography and wish to learn how to improve your images once there on your pc when I can recommend an excellant book (How to Wow) that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It has some great examples and tutorials on how to achieve effects using Photoshop.

Below is an example of hand colouring that I attempted. My grandfather used to do this by hand with paints after developing his own black & white photos in his darkroom. This was an original black & white photo taken by a professional photographer recently that I scanned in from a print.
